#01 My First Passion Project
& an Intro to Positive Psychology
First of, can we talk about how cool this poster by @toastedbyeli looks? Love the vintage adsy vibes, and of course the message.
This past week I worked on my very first branding design passion project (excitiiiing).
I thought about what industry and niche would be enjoyable to explore, and landed on an ice cream shop – it’s fun, goes with the current summer vibes and frankly, who doesn’t love a good cone or cup of deliciousness from time to time?
So, I went ahead and created a logo, color palette, illustrations, a brand pattern, and mockups. Check out the finished product! What do you think?👇

In my “note of appreciation” section, every week I want to shout out a person who inspires me and who is worth checking out or following (none of this is sponsored or anything, btw 😆).
So, my very first shoutout goes to amazing illustrator and educator Charly Clements, who was one of the first people I discovered in the art & design sphere.

I’ve been following Charly for years now, completed several of her Skillshare classes, took part in her monthly drawing challenges, and followed her procreate tutorials to further develop my illustration skills.
She is so lovely and delightful! Her calming and empowering nature really shines through with everything she does and I love how she isn’t shy to share tips and tricks.
Well, thanks a bunch, Charly!
In this section of the newsletter, I’d like to tackle psychological phenomena or positive psychology exercises, because I think we should all care about our well-being more. 😌
Let’s start by what positive psychology even is…
Positive psychology is a field of psychology that focuses on studying and promoting human well-being, happiness, and optimal functioning (cool, right?!).
It explores the positive aspects of human experience, such as positive emotions, strengths, resilience, gratitude, meaning, and personal growth.
Rather than solely focusing on psychological disorders and problems (which is what classic clinical psychology does), positive psychology aims to understand and enhance the factors that contribute to a fulfilling and flourishing life.
If you want to learn more about this topic, I can recommend reading the book “Flourish” by Martin Seligman (the father of positive psychology himself). 📚
These logo redesigns tho?? Love the lego, carhartt (first row) and spotify ones…
Let’s all try to prioritize our well-being this week. Take time to rest, recharge, and engage in activities that bring you joy.
Remember, you deserve to be happy and healthy. 🪴
Thank you for reading this week's newsletter, as always I hope you're having an amazing day.
Stay smiley,
Luise. ✿
